“A fresh and lively pop-alternative rock that finds a fitting balance between classic alternative and the new generation of synthesized sounds.” Alexandra Press, Indie-music.com

An accomplished songwriter, guitarist, singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer, James Moore has “lifted the bar for one-man-bands all over” on his debut CD Firefly . 11 melodic Rock & Pop songs released on his own independent label Burning Cupid mix influences like the Beatles, Big Star and Elvis Costello with nods to Swervedriver and Led Zeppelin. Firefly was written, played, recorded and mixed by James in early 2002 and released in November of that year.

"The best way for me to describe Firefly is that it's an introduction. I wanted to show a bit of diversity in my songwriting but keep the songs consistent and flowing . I try to stay out of the way when i write, so these were the 11 songs that kept running into each other and my head at the time. The new songs I'm working on are really dynamic, so I'm testing them out live and demo-ing to see where they want to go."

"I wouldn't call myself a singer/songwriter. I ended up playing a lot of those nights when i first moved to Dublin years ago, just to get out and keep playing to stay sharp. It was great to go out on my own and take different approaches and twists and turns and all of that, because every night each song can be a completely different experience. I really learned how to stand on my own."

Originally from St.Catharines Ontario, a Canadian border town with Buffalo, James has traveled extensively as a guitarist and solo artist, embarking on numerous tours of North America, Europe and Japan. He has toured with Holly McNarland (Universal), shared the stage with members of The Barenaked Ladies, Sloan, The Tragically Hip, comedians Sean Cullen, Rich Hall, Ed Byrne, Johnny Vegas and Ross Noble at the Edinburgh fringe; rubbed shoulders with the Ventures in Tokyo, Paul McCartney in London and Joey Santiago in Los Angeles; performed on National television (Global, CTV, Canada AM, Mike Bullard, Vicky Gabereau, City TV, BBC Four, MuchMusic), a live DVD and on College and National radio. As a session musician, James has played on various major label and independent releases, jingles and stings. He lives in Ireland.
